Business black with some spunk

Okay where I work, we wear black Tuesdays through Thursdays. On Wednesdays, I try to fit in a little pink ;). Black, sophisticated and slimming. You know this girl loves a good blazer look- but I just added a little more fun to it with the leopard . Sorry about the bad lighting and shadows ūüė¶

Amp up that T-shirt and Jeans Look: OOTD

Effortlessly chic. It took me about a minute to put this look together; well, to think of.. because it actually took me 10 minutes to find the pieces I wanted in my crazy closet. I recently got this shirt at Joe Fresh in SoHo, it made an appearance in my last post. It has the basic white T feel to it, yet the opaque white gems make all the difference. I paired it with slimming boyfriend styled jeans from Zara and Bucco Capensis sandals.

Short and Sweet Trip to New York City

I have been begging my mom to take me to the city since I was 7 years old. So happy I waited, I ended up appreciating it so much more. It was perfect weather! what a beautiful city.

Over the years I have realized that one day I will be living there if I was serious about fashion. Hopefully I will go back this summer (:

I fell in love. Most of these pictures are from the same day- but I thought I would share my experience.

P.S. I HIGHLY recommend seeing If/Then with Idina Menzel. It was ahhh-mazing, like all other Broadway shows.

“Let’s stop in J. Crew”

The dreaded yet beautiful words. I have a love for J. Crew, but I know its bad for me. After a few shopping trips with my good friend, I realized we are horrible shopping partners. We tell each other to buy everything. We both go a little overboard. Hey! there were some amazing sales. I couldn’t resist. I am visiting New York in 2 weeks- that will be a wild shopping weekend.

I did get a lot for my buck. I listed prices (original&sale) below

I bought the flow-y pants and the dress for my Jamaica trip. However, I think these pants can be super chic with a white t-shirt and strapy sandals or heels. Normally, I wouldn’t pick these up, but I’m happy I did.

Yesterday was a successful day. Get ready for some OOTD’s featuring these items.

xoxo,

Sarah

Dresses at the Oscars

As much as I appreciate the nominees, and all of the hard work they put into these films.. the dresses might be my favorite (pre)- Oscar time. ¬†I saw a lot of gold, are they trying to dress like awards?! One dress that really stood out was Ireland Baldwin’s. Some may say a red dress on a red carpet will clash, not for Ireland. It was the perfect shade of burgundy, designed by Burberry. The dress may not be THAT special, but i thought it was a great risk to take. Especially with the leg slit, bringing back memories of Angelina Jolie..but Ireland pulls it off much better.

I liked seeing the mix of winter and spring colors during this transition time.¬†One of my favorites of the night was Lupita Nyong’o, in custom Prada. This blue was absolutely perfect for her skin tone. She said, “It’s a blue that reminds me of¬†Nairobi, and so I wanted to have a little bit of home.”, I thought that was sweet.¬†I LOVED the deep v-neck and low cut sides. I also thought the headband brought on a much younger look.

Next on my list was Portia de Rossi. She was wearing one of my favorite designers, Naeem Khan. It was beautiful cream with flowery, abstract like cutouts. I don’t know about you, but it reminded me of spring. (:

Sally Hawkins was in Valentino. Once I saw the dress up close, I noticed the magnificent beading of pearls and gold crystals. I awed in amazement.

Can I borrow these for prom? (;
