Business black with some spunk

Okay where I work, we wear black Tuesdays through Thursdays. On Wednesdays, I try to fit in a little pink ;). Black, sophisticated and slimming. You know this girl loves a good blazer look- but I just added a little more fun to it with the leopard . Sorry about the bad lighting and shadows 😦

Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl tie the knot

I have returned from Kingston, Jamaica where I spent 17 days on a service trip (something I did last summer as well). I have embarked on a whole new attitude towards life due to this journey. I will end up doing a separate post focusing on my experience in Kingston. Yet, no words can fully express my passion for service work and the beautiful people who roam this underestimated island.

A little over a week ago, the wonderful Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl tied the knot in Bedford, New York. It was a intimate ceremony, hence, the lack of photos from their big day.

By far, Olivia’s street style is #1 in my books. I could attach 100 of her outfits and that would still not satisfy my love and connection to her personal style. I mean come on, did you see what she wore to the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week shows? ahhh-mazing. At Dior, she brought a dose of cool to couture.

She is lucky enough to work with so many amazing designers, especially in the bridal department. She even stunned in Brides magazine a month before her own big day. I couldn’t begin to imagine what her own wedding gown would be like when I heard about the engagement. It was not a surprise the couple would opt for a nontraditional feel. She ended up rocking a three piece Carolina Herrera ensemble with a cashmere sweater, white SHORTS, and a satin skirt with lace embroidery. I also loved the blue Manolo Blahnik heels, lets say she took it from “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”. She pulled it all together like the style pro she is.

Amp up that T-shirt and Jeans Look: OOTD

Effortlessly chic. It took me about a minute to put this look together; well, to think of.. because it actually took me 10 minutes to find the pieces I wanted in my crazy closet. I recently got this shirt at Joe Fresh in SoHo, it made an appearance in my last post. It has the basic white T feel to it, yet the opaque white gems make all the difference. I paired it with slimming boyfriend styled jeans from Zara and Bucco Capensis sandals.

Short and Sweet Trip to New York City

I have been begging my mom to take me to the city since I was 7 years old. So happy I waited, I ended up appreciating it so much more. It was perfect weather! what a beautiful city.

Over the years I have realized that one day I will be living there if I was serious about fashion. Hopefully I will go back this summer (:

I fell in love. Most of these pictures are from the same day- but I thought I would share my experience.

P.S. I HIGHLY recommend seeing If/Then with Idina Menzel. It was ahhh-mazing, like all other Broadway shows.

“Let’s stop in J. Crew”

The dreaded yet beautiful words. I have a love for J. Crew, but I know its bad for me. After a few shopping trips with my good friend, I realized we are horrible shopping partners. We tell each other to buy everything. We both go a little overboard. Hey! there were some amazing sales. I couldn’t resist. I am visiting New York in 2 weeks- that will be a wild shopping weekend.

I did get a lot for my buck. I listed prices (original&sale) below

I bought the flow-y pants and the dress for my Jamaica trip. However, I think these pants can be super chic with a white t-shirt and strapy sandals or heels. Normally, I wouldn’t pick these up, but I’m happy I did.

Yesterday was a successful day. Get ready for some OOTD’s featuring these items.

xoxo,

Sarah

College tours

1 down and many more to go!

I took a (not so wonderful) drive to Ohio to visit Kent State- main campus. Not only to see it’s nationally renowned fashion school but it was everything I was looking in a campus- large student population, athletics (field hockey- score!) and Greek life. Plus, a beautiful campus; there were many updated facilities.

There are many more schools to see. However, this first college visit really made me see fashion is something I am passion about and want to pursue.

Because it was a general tour( with 3/4 of us were fashion students!) we did not get a tour of the fashion building. After, my parents and I took a peak inside. First, there is a fashion museum open to the public. It was fascinating- seeing the progressive of fashion and the industry. The class sizes were the same as my high school and seemed pretty interactive. Even though I know I will have to take the 200 person lectures!

During our walk through, we saw the library of fashion.. So many fashion books and bibliographies – I died! I wish I had that opportunity to read all of those now without buying them. The building had unique architecture on the inside. Overall, just made me excited to learn!

We are now driving through Indiana and will stop at Ball State. I do not know much about Ball, but they are also known for their fashion program.

It was pretty rainy today so I didn’t take that many pictures so I got some off of google.🙊
